'Sex And The City 2' Stars Pick All-Time Favorite 'SATC' Looks

Posted By gd101 on May 24, 2010 at 10:13AM
  • Cynthia Nixon

Nixon had trouble remembering the many outfits she'd worn over the years: "Favorite outfit of all time? I have no idea!"

  • Kim Cattrall

"Oh, God, favorite outfit? I love the hat in the first movie, that just glorious, that huge hat that I had. Some of my favorite scenes [were] going down the pole in the fireman [episode]. That whole episode was just so much fun to do."

  • Kristin Davis

"Do you know how many thousands and thousands of outfits we have worn? I'm going to go with the Vera Wang, the first poofy wedding dress, because I would never choose such a thing in my life," Davis said, referring to Charlotte's gown during her wedding to Trey. "It was so quintessentially Charlotte and so deliciously foofy and Vera Wang that I'm going to go with that. And there's a favorite picture from that: when we walk out of the church and they threw the rose petals."

  • Sarah Jessica Parker

"I think the tutu in Paris, in that final montage of her and Big finally getting back together," Parker said. Fans, of course, remember that lavish, over-the-top tutu from the series' last episode.

MTV NEWS: 'Sex And The City 2' Samantha Wedding Pics Were A 'Bait-And-Switch'

Posted By gd101 on May 21, 2010 at 2:16PM

There have been many memorable weddings on "Sex and the City 2." Who could forget when Charlotte married Trey? Or, for that matter, when Charlotte married Harry? And, there was that lovely little ceremony when Steve finally got Miranda to tie the knot.

Then, of course, fans nearly died of happiness when Mr. Big and Carrie Bradshaw finally walked down the aisle in the first "Sex and the City" movie. So when fans saw paparazzi photos of Samantha (Kim Cattrall) in a wedding dress, they thought she was the latest "Sex and the City" girl to put a ring on it.

Turns out, they got duped. "That was a completely conscious bait-and-switch," "Sex and the City 2" director Michael Patrick King told MTV News.

He said it was Cattrall's devious mind that came up with the idea. "[She] came to me and said, 'I want to come to the set someday in a wedding gown and make everybody think Samantha's getting married,' " he recalled. "And I put it in my head [like], 'That's a funny idea.' Forty-five minutes later, I turned around; she was crossing the street in a wedding gown. I thought, 'Oh, today?' "

Cattrall wasn't able to pull it off all on her own; she got some help from the show's iconic stylist. "Patricia Field got a gown that fit her within 40 minutes, and she had a veil on and she's running across the street," he said. "And what I loved about it was every blog that I saw was like, 'This looks like a bad idea for a movie.' And I was like, 'It is!' "

Sarah Jessica Parker Reluctant To Give Up Role For 'Carrie Diaries' -MTV NEWS

Posted By gd101 on May 20, 2010 at 7:42PM

In the newly released"The Carrie Diaries," a written prequel of sorts to the "Sex and the City" series, readers follow a teenage Carrie Bradshaw as she navigates her senior year of high school. Now, with "Sex and the City 2" mania heating up, it seems only a matter of time before the book gets the TV or film treatment. But who could fill the iconic Carrie's shoes — as well as Sarah Jessica Parker?

MTV News recently caught up with the actress, who was promoting the "Sex" sequel opening May 17, and asked her.

"It's so funny. It's just been asked of me, of course, in the last 24 hours," Parker told MTV News about how she'd react to another actress playing a younger Carrie. "It makes perfect sense [that another actress would be cast]. And I would like to be generous of spirit and say, 'Of course,' and, 'I will do so if that is asked of me.' "

But Parker admitted she wasn't entirely comfortable with the idea, referencing another iconic character known for her shoes.

"It's just, I don't know. I can't imagine anyone else playing Dorothy Gale — just Judy Garland," Parker smiled with a nod to "The Wizard of Oz."

Parker can probably rest easy for now though, as adaptation plans seem to be a ways off. "The Carrie Diaries" author Candace Bushnell recently told MTV News, "It's not in my hands, so there aren't any plans at this moment. We don't know what's going to happen."

Sarah Jessica Parker Is Glad Aidan Is Back For 'Sex And The City 2'

Posted By gd101 on May 19, 2010 at 12:02PM

In the trailer for "Sex and the City 2," the only thing more surprising than the girls taking the sex to a different city, Abu Dhabi, is that fact that Carrie Bradshaw runs into former flame Aidan Shaw. It's definitely a moment that had fans talking — and will certainly have them flocking to the theaters May 27 to see what happens between the two.

Parker said the second flick was the right time to revisit their relationship, even if fans had hoped it would happen sooner.

"That has been an outcry from the public: 'How could you not have Aidan in the first movie?' " she told MTV News, joking, "And therefore ['SATC' writer/director] Michael [Patrick King] went back into his tiny little room in the desert in California and wrote in Aidan.

"And I think the truth is that Michael really lets a story tell itself," she continued. "That he doesn't think so much about 'Will this or won't this please an audience.' I think he told a story that really is great for Carrie Bradshaw — or Carrie Preston, depending on who she is at the moment. But I sure love the way he brought John Corbett back, because John Corbett is gold."

Are you excited to see Aidan's big return? Do you think Aidan and Carrie should get back together? Tell us in the comments!

My Mirror Furniture inspired by SATC

Posted By girlie871 on Jun 4, 2008 at 2:35AM

After watching SATC I was instantly inspired by carries room makeover. One item that I couldn't get out of my mind was a mirrored furniture piece. I spent a night on Shopstyle looking at the mirror furniture and most of them came from Neiman Marcus but I know there's more out there. Since I expect this kind of item to be expensive I'll probably end up creating my own version, a self-made mirror furniture inspired piece for myself. These bookmarks (so far) are my inspiration.

Here are the links to pics of carries apartment makeover. (The only pics I could find on the internet and Casasugar has them!)

Oh and if you did see it this weekend, did you see it with a group of friends? go out for cocktails after or dinner for a recap?
